Introductory Resources

Looking for a place to start with Open Research? These resources can help you get to grips with the basic concepts of Open Research in all of its forms. Whether you’re seeking to learn about the types of CreativeCommons licence, or for a more general survey of Open Research – the resource on these pages should help you get started.

Some of the resources refer to “Open Science” rather than “Open Research”; this is simply a case of terminology: “Science” in this context typically refers to all forms of research including the Arts and Humanities.

What is Open Research?

Open Research encompasses an array of practices. LERU and UNESCO both have fantastic introductory models of Open Research which are a great place to start.
